In New Bedford, Massachusetts during July of 1970 riots erupted in the streets.    The cause for the riots was over police brutality, unlawful arrests and most importantly the death of a black teen caused by three whites who fired at an unsuspecting crowd.  City police broke up a black organizing headquarters meeting and made twenty arrests under the charge of conspiracy to commit murder.

Interesting Fact:  Three out of the twenty men arrested were actually members of the Boston Branch of the Black Panthers.
